Create a Company
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Before a company can run payroll with Zeal, it must first be added to your partner account.
Creating a company generates a secure onboarding link that allows an authorized representative to complete company onboarding. During onboarding, they’ll provide business information, connect their payroll funding account, and complete the agreements required to process payroll.
Partners are able to create Company Onboarding Links for new Companies (Unique FEINs) who plan to run payroll on their platform. This can with the API (see Company Onboarding) or through the Zeal Dashboard.
Before You Begin
Before creating a company, make sure you have:
Access to your Partner Dashboard
The appropriate environment selected (Test or Live)
The company’s legal business name
A designated company representative who will complete onboarding
Steps to creating a Company Onboarding Link in the Zeal Dashboard
Log into your account in the Zeal Dashboard.
Select Add Company in the top right.
Note: If you have access to both test and live mode, ensure you are toggled to the correct mode on the left for the type of Company you would like to onboard (test = fake data, fake payroll; live = real company, real payroll).
A modal will appear, generating a unique Onboarding Link. You will be surveyed to create a tailored onboarding experience:
If a migration of Year-to-Date migration of existing payroll data is needed.
If you like to include a Webhook correlation ID
For Developers (See Company Onboarding Event)
Worker types the Company will support for Payroll
Contractors and Employees
Contractors Only
You can then copy the onboarding link and send it securely to the individual at the Company who will be onboarding the company.
